Ohio Driver's Ed faces cut as high schools drop classes
Ohio has taught driver education in high schools for six decades though many districts have reduced or ended offerings. Only 177 of mission schools still provide the course. Oberlin High in Lorain County remains the sole local provider. The state pays 50 dollars per student for the program, while new laws push private driving schools and graduated licensing, heightening parental involvement and costs.
