Miracle River Rescue Delivers Newborn on Birthday
In Charleston West Virginia a dramatic river accident ended in a miracle birth. George Keaton 24 of Glendenn was taking his wife Danae to the hospital when their car slid into the Elk River after clipping a bus. Rescuers including Dennis Tawney 24 and Olen Myers 19 pulled the couple and a family friend to safety. Mrs Keaton delivered a six pound two ounce boy at the hospital.

Two Boys Die In Dud Bazooka Shell Blast At Camp Pendleton
Two boys Andrew O'Toole of Santa Ana and John Erickson of Anaheim died at Camp Pendleton California after wandering into a Marine training area and playing with an improvised bazooka shell. A Marine spokesman said the explosive head detonated while they swung it in a circle. The pair were camping with families nearby on a public beach when the accident occurred.

First woman priest officiates communion in Philadelphia area
The Rev. Suzanne Hiatt celebrated her 39th birthday by becoming the first woman priest to officiate at an Episcopal public communion in the Philadelphia area. She was ordained with 10 other women in Philadelphia in July 1974 and led communion at the Church of the Ascension in Parkesburg.

FTC Proposes Rules On Used Car Disclosures
The Federal Trade Commission proposed rules to ban false or misleading claims about used cars and to require dealers to disclose known defects. Disclosures would cover mileage, prior use, major repairs, and whether the car was used as a taxi or fleet vehicle, with window stickers noting the make model and mileage. Violations could bring fines up to 10,000 dollars per day, and rules would apply to dealers only. The proposal allows public comment and foresees possible eight-hour pre sale inspections for buyers.
