Akron man phones Pope from jail in odd call
A 21 year old South Euclid man named Paul Covey Jr and his 22 year old friend Ronald Zaremsky were jailed after reckless operation of a motor vehicle on Ohio 8. Covey reportedly placed a person to person call to the Pope in the Vatican from Summit County jail. Deputies observed long phone time and found Vatican contact. Covey, Catholic, reportedly wanted the Pope to help him. Both men faced charges of reckless operation and disorderly conduct and were held after beligerent behavior when called to go home.

Sandusky man abducted at gunpoint robbed then jailed
Delance Fiske, 22, of 418 Camp St., says a white Cadillac pulled him from the Player's Lounge in Sandusky at 8 p.m. a gun robbed him of $31 and his shoes then dumped him barefoot on Rt. 2 Vermilion custody followed an arrest warrant in Sandusky on unauthorized use of a motor vehicle after he reported the incident to troopers.

Pistols tied to New Year murders in Tewksbury case
Police seized two .38 caliber pistols and a third weapon in the slayings of Dr Hugh F. Mahoney his wife Ruth and their son John 14 in Tewksbury Massachusetts. The three were found beaten choked and shot at their home New Year’s Eve. Ballistics tests were ordered by state police.
