Lorain St Joseph Opens Coronary Care Unit March 4
St Joseph Hospital in Lorain will open a six bed coronary care unit on March 4. The James R Nichol Memorial Fund funded over $20,000 for electronic monitoring equipment making the county’s first unit of its kind. The unit costs $69 daily to operate and features an oscilloscope linked cardiogram monitor, blood pressure cuffs and emergency defibrillator for stabilizing fibrillations. Sister Barbara Ann RN and Dr. Herbert Rosenbaum note continuous observation for heart patients as technicians prepare for full operation.
