In Presque Isle Maine Judge Julian W Turner fined his mother Mrs Marjorie Turner 15 dollars yesterday for driving without an inspection sticker. The courtroom was the former hospital delivery room on the third floor where Turner was likely born. The arresting officer felt bad but the judge said all are subject to the same laws.
In Connellsville Pennsylvania residents celebrate a watershed moment as a coal seam fire underground heated the water for five decades. State workers extinguished the fire by pumping 13 000 tons of wet fly ash into boreholes to smother the blaze and bring cold water back to faucets.
