James Harris a 28 year old Black man is bound over for trial on first degree murder after pleading guilty to killing Felix Carvello a 30 year old Mexican laborer with a shovel in a New York Central Railroad camp on Lodi street. Harris claimed self defense after a drinking bout in which witnesses and both men participated. Two women Mrs Lee Davis and Miss Pauline Allen testified in the room as Harris struck Carvello and then struck again as he lay on the ground. Both women are held as material witnesses.
