Remorseful Huertas faces death penalty in Harris killing
Ediber Huertas sits with remorse as jurors in Lorain County weigh aggravating and mitigating factors in the June death of Air Force Sgt. Ralph Harris Jr. His common law wife Arlene Huertas accuses Elba Ortiz of seducing both men, saying Harris was a friend he cared for deeply and Lorain’s Ortiz shared blame. The verdict could sentence Huertas to death or life in prison, the first Ohio death penalty decision by a Lorain County jury since legality.
