Holocaust survivor Pinchas Epstein testified Demjanjuk, known as Ivan the Terrible, supervised Treblinka death pits where chlorine caused corpses to burn and ground to sink as bodies decomposed. He described blood erupting from the earth, adding more victims to pits. Epstein escaped Treblinka in 1943 during a prisoner revolt.

An Atlanta based consulting firm has been hired by the newly created Lorain County Chamber of Commerce to raise 3 million dollars for four year area wide business development. The National Community Development Service will conduct a feasibility study and guide the county chamber. The plan includes building at least one industrial facility a business retention program and expansion of EXPO Lorain County. Chambers in Vermilion Sheffield Village Sheffield Lake Amherst and North Ridgeville have agreed to participate as the county chamber coordinates area wide development to add jobs while not replacing local chambers.
