Twenty miners trapped for hours in a Camp Bird Gold mine tunnel near Ouray Colorado were reached by rescuers at 10 o'clock last night and all were taken out safely. The disaster killed a cook, a foreman, and a miner, with others injured. rescue crews battled 10 foot snow drifts to reach the mouth of the tunnel and establish contact through the frozen walls. The mine, famed for its wealth, yielded gold ore and was once owned by Tom Walsh. The men reported no major distress beyond cold and hunger as they waited for rescue.
