Robbers Loot Bratenahl Mansion Of Cleveland Magnate
A gang of four masked robbers invaded William G. Mather's Bratenahl estate near Cleveland, beating Mrs. Mather and fleeing with jewels and heirlooms valued at about 350000 dollars after breaking a safe. Police call it an inside job. a nurse was bound and the couple’s staff were questioned. The loot included three diamond necklaces and a pearl strand, with only 150 dollars in cash taken. The Mather mansion stands on a six acre Lake Erie shore parcel. the elderly industrialist is known as Cleveland's iron ore pioneer.
