North Ridgeville teachers wage talks hit impasse after last offer
The North Ridgeville district and the NREA remain at an impasse over the 2011 12 wage and benefits extension. Superintendent Powell and Board President McCarthy said the board delivered a final offer on Feb 8 and again Feb 14, while the union asserts a counter offer exists. Community members urged negotiations to resume citing teacher retention and fair pay. Lorain County AFL-CIO backed teachers as advocates for better compensation amid rankings and career progression concerns.
