A WWII era Korean War veteran and alumnus of Youngstown University, he taught in Ohio public schools 24 years and was active at Lutheran East High School. survived by wife Gwen, children Portia and Stephen, four siblings, grandchildren, and many relatives. The family will receive friends February 25, 2017, at First Congregational UCC in Wellington, with a service at 10:30 AM. Memorials may be sent to Lutheran High School East. She worked at Carl Diner and Poiner Grocery retiring from Pipe Fittings and was a Wellington Eagle member. Survivors include her son Gerald, daughters Dawn Sword and Chuck McClellan, five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Preceded by husband Charles in 1973 and siblings Horace and Mary. Private graveside service at Rochester Cemetery Norton-Eastman Funeral Home handled arrangements.
