Globemaster Crashes Near Korean Front Injuring Many

A United States Air Force Globemaster with 159 aboard crash lands near the Korean front, injuring many seriously while reports say there were no fatalities. The four engine plane diverted due to engine trouble and landed in a river bed near Kimpo, about miles from the demilitarized zone, with victims rushed to Inchon’s Evacuation Hospital.

Four Die in Fire as Girl Is Saved in Youngstown

Four members of a Youngstown family died in a two story apartment fire when fire swept the living room and spread to upstairs bedrooms. Howard Hakkarsinen, 28, his 24 year old wife Caroline, and their two children David 1 and Daniel 2 months perished. Three year old Pamela was rescued on a porch roof by Edgar Kuhns of Poland Ohio. Pamela recovered with minor burns. Firefighters battled the blaze with seven companies after alarms around 1:13 am.
