City approves contractor registration rule in Fairview Park
Fairview Park voters learn City Council passed an ordinance to require contractors and subcontractors to register with the city. Sponsor Councilman David Cook said the rule shields residents from unscrupulous workers while homeowners doing their own projects are exempt. Registration requires two years experience or two years technical training plus references, and an approved applicant must post a $1,000 bond to guarantee building code compliance.
