Administration Bills To Get Green Light In Assembly
Columbus Ohio February 20 Administration leaders aim to push Bricker administration bills through the House and Senate in the eighth week of the session. The House Rules Committee may act as a jitney calendar, speeding bills to early consideration while debate continues on unemployment insurance reform, parole board reorganization, and the tax commission overhaul. Expect action on relief enabling legislation for cities and a permanent relief act, with friction from interests wary of local fund transfers. The Senate is set to advance administration school bills and the 12.6 million school appropriation for the first quarter, along with a plan for state assumption of future interest payments on a 17 million deficit, both already through the House.
