Oberlin Officer Dies Suddenly
Oberlin police officer John Van Heuveln aged 40 died suddenly at his South street home after a brief illness. Born in Germany May 4, 1898, he came to the United States at nine, settled in Raymond Minnesota, married Gerta Baumann in 1920, moved to Oberlin in 1923. He served 13 years with the state highway department and two years on the Oberlin police force. He leaves a wife three children a father a brother and three sisters. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2:00 from Sedge man funeral parlors with burial in Westwood cemetery.
