Fitz Simmons clan ties rival Kennedys in Hollywood
Hollywood sources describe Maureen O Hara and her Fitz Simmons family as a tightly bound dynasty similar to the Kennedy clan. The clan includes brother Charles the Dublin lawyer turned film producer, Jim the businessman actor, sister Florey, sister Peg who chose a convent over Milan, and Margot visiting from Virginia. The parents’ strict yet loving guidance helped fuse a close knit brood raised in Ireland, now living near Maureen in Hollywood. Maureen notes they are inseparable except when asleep, crediting early Irish upbringing and parental confidence for their unity.

Swift the uneducated director heads Hollywood rise
HOLLYWOOD UP I report on David Swift a self made director whose rapid success with Pollyanna Parent Trap and The Interns defies formal schooling. He credits script writing for control and notes WWII combat experience shaped his Schmaltz style. Swift, a Minneapolis native, travels with family, rejects showbiz elitism, and aims to top box office with The Grand Duke and Mr Pho, while balancing TV roots and stage show credits.
