Three Explosions Destroy Bayway Refinery In New Jersey
A naptha gas flare and two alcohol vat blasts rocked the Bayway Refinery of the Stanol Company in Elizabeth New Jersey. Dozens injured many burned as flames swept through the alcohol section and adjacent buildings. Fire crews fought the blaze while ambulances ferried injured workers and private cars aided emergency stations. Several dead and many wounded reported as investigators traced the blast to fumes ignited by work on a piping system in the alcohol department.

Highwaymen Take $10,000 Worth of Tires
In Cleveland Ohio February 19 men robbed Van Bushnell a truck driver of two loaded tires and gagged him in Mar Heights village after forcing him to stop on a steep grade near Medina. The robbers escaped with tires valued at ten thousand dollars. Also a cart pusher was killed by an automobile in Columbus Ohio while guiding a two wheeled cart through the streets.

Pilot pleads guilty to 10 charge case in Ohio court
C R Heitzenstein a 22 year old Detroit pilot pleaded guilty in Zanesville common pleas court to transporting liquor by air. He was fined 200 dollars plus costs. A bottle of alcohol missing earlier, and a later theft of 11 sacks of alleged whiskey by two blondes in an automobile followed.
