Tuition Hikes Planned for Elyria Schools

The Elyria Board of Education proposes raising high school tuition by 14.75 per year and elementary by 16.70 per year, based on costs calculated by officials and approved by the State Department of Education. The study shows annual costs of 109.75 for a high school student and 91.70 for an elementary student, with current charges at 95 and 75. Depreciation allowances add 15.78 and 13.22 respectively, shifting the cost basis and prompting the proposed increases.
