Lorain School Man To Take Dairy Association Job

Lorain school man Horald K. Noble will become manager of the Ohio Dairy Association around April 1. He was chosen by Canton president ML R. Moorman to direct the state's dairy promotion program in cooperation with the American Dairy Association activities in more than 30 states. Farmers nationwide would join a 1.50 annual contribution to milk advertising, with Noble moving to Columbus with his wife and two children.

Pups Star in German Show Led to Sea Voyage Mischief

In Wiesbaden Miss Misa Sinnott entered her two dogs in a Ragke Red Cross Club show winning best set of thoroughbreds. On the Le Havre to home voyage the puppies slept under a sleeping pill and enjoyed the shipboard life, returning to field pack without incident.

Miss Shields Reports on Lorain County Extension Work

Miss Rhea Shields, county agent, will address the Camden township women’s club at 2 p m Monday at Mrs W B Davidson’s home. Shields will discuss aims and methods of the extension program and county implementation plans. A women’s community extension group in Camden township is being organized.

Deaths of Everett Lockwood and Earl B Hewitt

Everett Lockwood 61 of New London died at Huon County House Norwalk after a field accident left him ill. Survived by brother Tom and sister Ruby Lockwood. Funeral Monday 2 pm Fitch Funeral Home Grove Street Cemetery. Earl B Hewitt 72 of Wellington died after two months illness at Folls Clinte born Oberlin lifelong farmer and service station owner. Sinnatt return home with a litter of pups after overseas service

Miss Sinnatt, a WAC veteran, traveled from New York to Fort Dix then home. Her pups remained calm during the trip. a man offered $200 at Cleveland Union Terminal but she refused. She served in England France Germany with a year and a half overseas, visiting Ireland twice to see her mother. She died with relatives nearby. An auto collision damaged a car driven by George Hanna on Fuller Road.

Child Found Dead In Bed In Avon Home

Deputy sheriffs investigated the death of three week old Iaora Miller in Avon. The mother said the infant hiccuped during the night and died by morning after being held until sleep. The baby was taken to Carl Taylor Funeral Home awaiting coroner S C Ward's report. There are other children in the family.

Steel strike settles at Pressed Steel Car Co as unions reach deal

Officials hailed a breakthrough as Pressed Steel Car Co McKees Rocks Pa with 2800 workers announced an agreement with the CIO including an 18 12 cent wage increase retroactive to January The move was seen as key to resolving broader industrial disputes affecting 176000 striking GM workers 200000 CIO United Electrical workers and packinghouse staff with others awaiting word from United Mine Workers and John L Lewis. Leaders expected steel industry settlements by midweek and viewed this as a path to wider peace in labor tensions.

Study Repairs Of Lighting Fixtures By Rural Women

Leaders from rural women's extension groups in Lorain County met yesterday afternoon to study repair and repaint of lighting fixtures and equipment. Miss Anne Biebricher led the session at West Carlisle Hall, with plans to share materials with community groups in coming weeks and a March 14 follow up when lamp shades will be made. Wind damaged road crossing leads to fatal truck collision

The sole witness to the accident was the engineer, with the crossing angle about 44 degrees and frost on cab windows possibly impairing vision. Wind damage repairs were underway in the LaGrange area.
