Gerald Jerry Bernard Cook 76 of Wellington died February 14 2008 after a lengthy illness at Elyria Memorial Hospital He was born August 27 1931 in Johnstown Colorado to Ray and Esther Cook He lived in several states and Taiwan before settling in Wellington in 1979 A 1949 Clinton Missouri graduate he served in the Army 1952 1954 He worked at Cleveland Center FAA Oberlin taught computer classes at Lorain County Vocational School and Lorain County Community College and owned Cooks Computer Services He enjoyed camping cribbage guitar mandolin and banjo. He belonged to Masonic Liberty Lodge Taipei Afifi Shrine Shriners Wellington VFW Eagles American Legion AmVets and AA for over 20 years Surviving spouse listed.

Carlisle Township residents chose home rule, enabling self governance but also requiring funded legal representation. Lorain County commissioners approved a contract with the county prosecutor to represent Carlisle Township at 190 dollars an hour, about 15000 annually, through December 31. Residents voted 1636 to 485 in favor of home rule.
