Avon Lake Mayor UrbinDeclines Senate Run Amid Grants Push
Avon Lake mayor Vincent Urbin, 39, announces he will not seek the 13th district state Senate seat, citing ongoing Avon Lake projects and family considerations. He notes large city grants he helped secure, including a $911,455 Ohio Natural Resources grant for a Miller Oak Park fishing pier, an $850,000 EDA grant for Pin Oak Industrial Parkway, and a $673,500 Nature Works bike path. Urbin remains open to future offices but will remain mayor beyond 1999.
