Mrs. Stella Howard aged 56 of Town Line Road died at St. Josephs hospital after being struck by a northbound car at stop 46 Green Line near Penfield Junction while walking with her husband and a friend. She suffered a fractured skull broken ankles and other injuries. Police could not identify the hit and run vehicle though witnesses believed the phantom car was a Jewett sedan. Body taken to Amherst funeral parlors. funeral arrangements not set.

Moore of Wakeman township in Huron county was arrested by O B Rankin on a liquor charge Saturday night. He was arraigned before Justice W W Scott, fined 200 dollars and costs, and committed to jail at Norwalk until the fine is paid. Rankin also arrested Clara Lee and Mabel Myers of 1442 Broadway Lorain Saturday afternoon after a chemical test on suspected liquor found at their premises the night before. A bond of 500 dollars was set to insure their appearance before Justice George this afternoon.
