Assault charges filed against mom of dead teenager
Donna Garn, 38, of LaGrange, is sought on domestic violence and second degree felonious assault charges after a Monday incident in which she allegedly struck her mother outside the Palomino Court home. The case ties to Curtis Garn, a 15 year old Oberlin High School student who died Jan. 4 after a van struck him on Route 511. Authorities say Garn’s whereabouts are unknown and appeal for tips to the sheriff's department.

Red Cross volunteers aid Lorain flood relief effort
Red Cross volunteers led by Carla Biggert distributed over 40 flood cleanup kits in Elyria and Lorain on Wednesday. Supplies included mops, buckets, cleaning items and gloves.
