Fixes for Ohio politics and a bigger General Assembly

The Ohio Capital Journal notes state Sen. Louis Blessing plans to reintroduce a twofold idea: expand the General Assembly from 33 to 51 senators and 99 to 153 representatives from 2033, alongside a revised citizen-initiated law process. Proponents say more seats could boost responsiveness and widen participation, but critics warn money in politics, gerrymandering risks, and higher costs. Blessing also proposes removing a second signature round to place ballot measures before voters and adding protections to slow changes to voter approved laws.
