Texas executes pastor's killer in Huntsville
Steve Lawayne Nelson, 37, was executed by lethal injection at the Texas State Penitentiary in Huntsville for the 2011 death of Rev. Clint Dobson, a Dallas area pastor beaten and suffocated inside North Pointe Baptist Church. The defense claimed he acted as a lookout. Judy Elliott, 67, survived the attack. Nelson's execution marked the second in the U.S. this year and the first of Texas’s four scheduled in the coming months.
