Voters say yes, no to levies in two Ohio towns

Amherst voters approved a 49 mill operating levy on the fourth try, generating about 700000 dollars yearly and raising the average homeowner's tax by 70 dollars. Avon Lake denied a 4 mill operating levy, potentially triggering staff cuts and budget tightening. Powers and Dawley closing its Elyria store

Powers and Dawley will close its Elyria downtown location at 501 Broad St after a 320000 inventory clearance.
