Boy 5 killed crossing after misread school crosswalk tag
Elyria police say a 5 year old boy Richard Galindo thought he could cross at a painted school crossing on E River Street. He was hit by Gary Schmitz 25 of Lorain while walking home from McKinley Elementary School noon Tuesday. He died at the scene. He dragged 13 feet. A guard at the East River and Lincoln intersection was requested.

Boy 13 collapses and dies en route to school
Huron boy David H Jones 13, who enjoyed running with his dog, collapsed at McCormick Middle School around 8 am after a run from home at 545 Wilber Ave. He was taken to Memorial Hospital in Sandusky and pronounced dead at 11:43. Erie County coroner to rule on cause later.

Canadians to fly flag in Vermilion park week
In Vermilion the Canadian flag will fly beside the U S flag for a week to honor Canada’s rescue of six American diplomats.
