Lawsuit filed against EPD alleges harassment and discrimination
Former Elyria police officer Kristen Fortune sues the Elyria Police Department and the city in county Common Pleas Court claiming sexual harassment and gender discrimination. The complaint alleges coworkers discussed pornography, sent sexual messages, and subjected her to a hostile orientation. Fortune, hired in 2014 as one of four female officers in an 85 member force, says a bikini photo of her circulated and a male nickname was used during training.
