Amherst library bond could add 24000 square feet on Spring Street

Amherst homeowners would pay about 2.99 per month per 100000 of valuation if the library bond passes to fund a 24000 square foot addition. The project would expand Spring Street Library to just over 38000 square feet while remaining open during construction. Library Director Robin Woods says feedback is largely positive with timing noted as a concern. The district serves Lorain County with a 1 mill operating levy funding about 300000 of its 1 million budget sourced mainly from state funds.
