Truck Driver Killed On Turnpike Near Bedford

Viney a 22 year old truck driver from London RD 4 O was killed yesterday when his trailer truck struck an automobile, ran up an embankment and overturned on the Pennsylvania Turnpike authorities said Viney died at the scene and the turnpike was temporarily closed for investigation The crash occurred on the Turnpike near Bedford Pennsylvania

Former Avon Mayor William J Bommer Dies at Home
Former Avon mayor William J Bommer aged about 80 or 90 passed away at his home at the corner of Conrad and Moore roads at 10 45 am Wednesday after a yearlong illness. He served Avon from 1936 to 1940 and lived in the town all his life. He worked 22 years as a Farm Bureau Insurance agent and was a farmer. He belonged to St Marys church Knights of Columbus Holy Name Society and several local groups. Survived by wife May and 12 children, 9 grandchildren, and a sister and brother.
