Officials to get '73 pay hikes in Ohio
Ohio Governor John J Gilligan signed a law boosting salaries for state legislators county and township officials starting the new year The House and Senate leaders will move from 16750 to 18500 while other lawmakers rise from 12750 to 14000 County level posts including commissioners prosecutors sheriffs clerks and others get raises based on county population Township trustees and clerks also gain pay increases with trustees possibly earning 10 dollars a day for up to 200 days Clerks in smaller townships could reach about 6000 dollars annually The measure passed the 109th General Assembly on December 15 and could not be delayed further by term limits or the absence of a bill.
