Tragic North Royalton worker found shot on Lorain County road
Virgil K. Ball a 38 year old Cleveland Chevrolet plant laborer from North Royalton was found dead by a Medina County deputy along Erhart Road near the Lorain County line at 1 10 a m. Ball last seen Saturday evening walking to a tavern with his sons noting a wallet with cash. Investigators say the single gunshot wound to the back and lack of signs of a struggle rule out robbery and suggest the crime may involve someone he knew. Authorities believe the body was moved to the desolate road. Ball’s death prompted no immediate public notice and is treated as a murder inquiry.
