Auditor Criticizes City Court Clerk in Middletown

State Auditor T Ferguson condemned Middletown Municipal Court clerk Harry C Kempf for negligence in cash handling. He charged Kempf with failing to account for 1702.50 in fines after examining city books from Sept 24 1944 to Dec 4 1945 and said Kempf signed receipts but kept no accounting for the money.

Brownell Named Sunshine Biscuits Research Director

W Elliot Brownlee, vice president in charge of production and research at United Mills, is named director of research for Sunshine Biscuits Inc. He will assume duties January 2 and relocate to Long Island City. Brownlee, a 1929 University of Minnesota graduate and chemist, helped oversee plant acquisitions at Kansas City Fremont The Dalles.
