Soldiers Relief Commission to Use Free Space in Y M C A
Courtney Kirby, secretary of the County Soldiers and Sailors Relief Commission, reports the commission will use space in the Y M C A rent free while the office-space dispute with county commissioners is resolved. The Turner block offered at 50 dollars monthly but was deemed unsatisfactory, with Y M C A space donated. County officials Dunn and McGauchie-Poth oppose free rent, while Kirby says the arrangement is temporary and the commission did not approve the Turner block.
