Soldiers Relief Commission to Use Free Space in Y M C A

Courtney Kirby, secretary of the County Soldiers and Sailors Relief Commission, reports the commission will use space in the Y M C A rent free while the office-space dispute with county commissioners is resolved. The Turner block offered at 50 dollars monthly but was deemed unsatisfactory, with Y M C A space donated. County officials Dunn and McGauchie-Poth oppose free rent, while Kirby says the arrangement is temporary and the commission did not approve the Turner block.

A F Connolly Wakeman Lawyer Dies at 74

Augustine F Connolly, a well known Wakeman resident born in Oberlin March 31 1872, died after a short illness. He practiced law in Toledo, served as assistant prosecuting attorney for Lucas County, and was active in St Patrick's Church Knights of Columbus and the Elks. He retired to Wakeman with family and is survived by a sister, a brother, nieces, and other relatives. Funeral services planned at his residence and Wakeman St Marys Church. Interment at Wakeman St Mary Cemetery.

New London Man Released In Fatal Shooting Case

New London. Johnn Norris, 70, held on 100 bond since December 23 in the fatal shooting of Carlen Twainin, 39, railroad section hand, was released by Mayor Wilmer White after a letter from Rex F. C Harey County Prosecuting Attorney. Norris shot Twainin after the latter broke into the Norris home and attacked Mrs Norris. Twainin was buried at Potter’s Field in Grove Street cemetery Saturday morning.
