At University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center Gates auditorium, several individuals were honored for saving Grafton Township man Jerry Fowle after a July 3 heart attack. CPR by Michelle Dostall and Paul Signorelli, aided by Ohio Highway Patrol, led to a pulse and eventual hospital care.

Keystone junior Kayden Williams dies in crash near Keystone High
Keystone High School junior Kayden Williams died in a single vehicle crash on West Ridge Road near Russia Road in Carlisle Township. Ohio Highway Patrol said Williams, 17, was not wearing a seat belt and died at the scene. Investigators seek time and direction of the crash. drugs and alcohol are not suspected. Community leaders described Williams as a bright, energetic student and the school opened for gathering as grief spreads.

Sheffield Village Hikes Lodging Tax to Six Percent
Sheffield Village Council voted to raise the lodging tax from 3 percent to 6 percent, boosting annual revenue by about 80,000 dollars for an economic development and tourism fund.
