Fewer War Vets Plan To Go To College
Cincinnati University president Dr. Raymond G. Walters reports in Education Weekly that fewer than 840,000 returning veterans are expected to enroll in the nation's universities after the war, far below province estimates of up to 2,000,000. Walters bases this on a 10,000 servicemen sample from his 25th annual survey. Peak enrollment likely a year and a half after the war, with servicemen taking college work spread over several years.
