Flooding hits Lorain County as rivers rise and recede
Heavy rain and snowmelt flood Lorain County. About 2.8 inches fell, prompting evacuations on Riverside Drive in Vermilion as the Vermilion River reached flood stage. Residents returned later as levels dropped. The Black River in Elyria stood at flood stage later Sunday.

Two shot in North Ridgeville home
Two men were shot at a Reed Road residence in North Ridgeville a Sunday afternoon incident. The victims were taken to hospital with injuries described as non life threatening. Suspects were captured near Island Road by K 9 officers and were not charged as of Sunday night.
