Avon Lake Marching Band heads to Florida for Christmas

Avon Lake High School Marching Band boards buses for a trip to Orlando to perform in the Champs Bowl halftime show between Florida State and Wisconsin. The group will also appear in Universal Studios Florida Macy’s Holiday Parade and visit Disney World venues and theme parks. Fundraising included a Honda scooter auction and restaurant night donations. Band director David Eddleman praised the students’ hard work and commitment.

Avon Lake cancer relay schedules and winter challenge

The American Cancer Society announces its annual relay at Avon Lake High School from 4 p.m. June 6 to 10 a.m. June 7 to raise cancer funds. A January 5 meeting at Avon Lake Library invites involvement with a 6 p.m. committee and 7 p.m. captains session. The Roads Trip Winter Distance Run Walk Challenge lets participants log daily miles on roadtriplog.com until January 1.
