City Delays Payment for West River Parkway Model

Elyria struggles to merge a $2,500 plastic West River Parkway model with a $2,545 separate account. The purchase arrived without proper authority and the council ruled the related ordinance out of order for lacking a committee report. Community Development Director Norm Failing stated funds were moved after a committee report, but the joint purchase had not secured formal approval. Fauver questioned the spend and warned the money could be better used, noting the city may need to wait until the new council takes over to pay.
