West Coast Earth Tremor Shocks Wide Area

A powerful earthquake last night shook the Pacific Coast from Reno to Salt Lake City, felt in San Francisco at 10 08 p m. It broke the University of Washington seismograph needle and caused minor damage while sparking an electrical storm. Dr Albert J Newlin called it a record for recent quakes with seismographs showing full amplitude for about 22 minutes.

Bank in Medina County Held Up by Trio

In Medina County Ohio on December 21 a posse of about 100 pursued three gunmen who robbed the Sharon Center bank between Medina and Akron of 4000 dollars. The trio escaped in a car stolen the prior night in Cleveland. John Bell and cashier Mrs Dorothy Robertson were forced into the basement by two gunmen before the vaults were looted.

Lorain Ohio December 21 authorities probe links between the death of Eva Volpe whose bruised body was found in Lake Erie and an alleged kidnapping attempt of a Lorain schoolboy mistaken for the dead girl’s brother.
