Three Oberlin students killed in grade crossing crash
Oberlin College and relatives reported that three students Albert Brown Warren Henke and Thomas Moran were killed when their car was struck by a Nickel Plate train at a grade crossing near Buffalo on their Christmas vacation trip. Brown a junior from Stockbridge Mass Henke a sophomore from Hartford Conn Moran a junior at Oberlin High School was en route to Milford Conn to spend the holidays. Mrs Moran and two daughters accompanied the party by train to Connecticut.

A United Press survey shows heavy Christmas travel caused by teacher and student returns led to multiple crashes across Ohio highways. At least 13 people died including three from Frankford, Ohio, in a freight train collision near Roxabell, Ross County. Donald Hyer, 21, Dalvo Hyer, 31, and Harold Davis, 28, perished. Frank Moore, 55, and his wife Margaret, 50, were killed when a freight train struck their car near Newark after bidding farewell to their daughter. Mrs. G. A. Wilford, 55, died and her sister Mrs. W. F. Baldwin was injured in a collision with a Western Ohio Traction car near Sidney. Mary Chesman, 22, a Youngstown teacher, was noted among the casualties.
