Bevel Park site eyed for new Ohio state park in Lorain County
State Rep. John Bara and ODNR officials toured Lorain County shoreline at Beaver Park Marina amid discussions of $3 million in ODNR funds for land acquisition and planning. They noted Beaver Park’s 800 yards of undeveloped shoreline but cited railroad tracks requiring an overpass or underpass if chosen. Other sites include Beulah Beach, Sheldon Preservation, and Vermilion and Huron River areas.

Absent Lorain Council Recalled for Special Meeting
Only eight of Lorain's twelve council members attended the Monday session, halting suspension of Tules and passage of any ordinances. Mayor Parker scheduled a special meeting for 6 tonight to consider a second reading including a payroll funding transfer and a follow up Wednesday if needed. Auditor Koziura warned a 2.5 to 2.7 million 1984 deficit. Parker cited higher costs and raises. Parker vetoed pay raises for councilmen and opposed splitting the litter control officer from other posts, calling it patronage.
