Judge grants new trial for nurses in VA poisoning case

A federal judge in Detroit vacated convictions against Filipina nurses Narciso, 31, and Leonora Perez, 33, tied to poisoning patients at the Ann Arbor Veterans Administration Hospital in 1975. Coldest Soviet Month Record Set in Siberia

Tass reported temperatures reached minus 76 degrees Fahrenheit at Delyankir and Oymyakon near Yakutsk in Northern Siberia. The Soviet agency noted the early cold was forecast and there were no frostbite cases, with such depths usually in January.
