The Elyria Veterans Service Center asks veterans to decide what should be done with their records as it nears closing. Many veterans never contacted the center, so records were not established. staff will return records when veterans specify instructions, aiming to complete by December.
John A. Eckler 33 of Elyria is named executive assistant to U S Senator John W Bricker in Washington. Navy lieutenant in World War II, he commanded a subchaser in the Pacific. A Elyria High School, Ohio Wesleyan, and University of Chicago law graduate, he lives in Columbus with wife Mary Rickey Eckler and two children.
A misprint in yesterday's death report listed Mrs. Charles Joseph at 418 Godi Street instead of the correct Lutzel Avenue address. The error arose from copying figures. the actress James Sederis obituary column notes the corrected residence.

He belonged to Find Christian church in Elyria. Survived by nieces and nephews. Services at Nichols-Daken Funeral Home Saturday at 1 o clock Rev Henry Ko Shaw officiating burial in Fields Cemetery.
The Elyria Selective Service Board announced six additional registrants at its office. Four are youths who have just turned eighteen. two are veterans who enlisted before eighteen and were required to register after reforming their status.
