County schools vote to keep existing schedules
Lorain County public and parochial schools will continue on current time schedules after the nation switches to Daylight Saving Time. Superintendents from all districts, including Sister Catherine Nolan, voted to maintain times citing child safety, though final decisions rest with local boards. Elyria Board supported the administration recommendation, citing disruption to work, transport, and child-care plans and noting longer daylight will lessen energy concerns. Sheffield-Sheffield Lake will survey parents to gauge opinion on the issue.
