Village weighs renegotiating taxes after warehouse closes
SHUT From C1 Center on East River Road houses 14 workers generating 3000 to 4000 dollars in annual income taxes. The 10 year lease with Billy Rowland Inc ends in four years. Annual real estate taxes totaled about 31000, with nine landowners benefiting from halved taxes under an old agreement. The village may renegotiate terms, facing potential lost revenue if property values drop and carrying $197000 in bond debts for a 14 mile access road and lines into the site.
