Principal reprimanded in bomb threat action
Elyria High School principal, Bela Molnar, was reprimanded by Superintendent Lester Schultz for mishandling a November bomb threat. An investigation found staff failed to notify police or fire officials, mistook the threat for a fire drill, and did not evacuate two students with disabilities, putting staff and students at risk. Lorain chamber funds spark questions over taxpayer aid
Mr Frank DeTillio says Lorain money is a small part of the chamber’s 1 million annual budget and could be settled by a formal contract for economic development services. Foltin’s office shows 1989 to 1992 and 1997 contributions totaling 152000 with various line items. Council trims 1997 chamber funding to 25000, directing 10000 to cover 1994 1995 shortfalls and noting a potential ongoing cut of 10000 annually.
