Firelands senior performs at National FFA Convention
Firelands High School senior Jennifer DePalma performed for an audience of over 10,000 at the National FFA Convention in Kansas City Missouri. She was selected after winning a state competition in Columbus and submitted a video for national judging. Her selection featured Wind Beneath My Wings. Jennifer is active in NHS Drama Club 4 H and more and served as September Student of the Month.

Oberlin students update history book for third graders
Third graders at Prospect Elementary in Oberlin will study a revised 111 page edition of Oberlin Yesterday Today and Tomorrow. Gail Wood with Jan Deaknis and Jean Ebosh edited the book first compiled in 1969. Local residents and Oberlin College archive staff contributed. A thousand copies at two dollars were printed for Prospect Elementary.

Aqua Marine Hotel opens restaurant Dover at Aqua Marine
Aqua Marine Hotel in Avon Lake opens the Dover at Aqua Marine restaurant run by Dover Catering serving breakfast and lunch Monday to Friday and brunch Sundays. The hotel was bought by a national group promoting Transcendental Meditation and previously hosted a low fat, no red meat menu at Fair Way. The new venue features over 80 items including prime rib and a January dinner theater by Jovialites Entertainment presenting a murder mystery two weekends. Avon Lake Council notes cover tax administration, property access, and a proposed AT&T tower on the water tower with an executive session and readings scheduled.
