Washington AP reports yields on short-term Treasuries declined in Monday auctions with three month bills at an average discount rate of 7.0 percent and six month bills at 7.01 percent. The three month rate marked its lowest since 6.81 percent on Sept 23 and the six month rate its lowest since 7.00 percent on July 8. Discount yields imply annualized returns of 7.22 percent for three month bills and 7.37 percent for six month bills.
